From a solo Steel Drummer with backing tracks to a Duo,Trio, Quartet or full ensemble featuring vocals, guitar, bass, double seconds (steel drums), drums and percussion. Caribbean Steel can perform with or without power. Caribbean Steel performs all over the greater Southern California region performing at such notable venues such as The World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, The San Diego Wild Animal Park, The Hornblower Cruise Lines, Humphrey's By The Bay, Birch Aquarium, La Costa Resort & Spa and many more, as well as Beaches, Parks, Weddings, Private and Corporate events. Caribbean Steel features fun activities such as The Limbo Contest, The Hula Hoop Contest and the World Famous Conga Line.

Caribbean Steel was founded by band leader/Steel Drummer/Percussionist, Nico Gutierrez. Nico G. was born in NYC to Wayne Gutierrez a professional show drummer and has been playing drumset since he was 9 yrs old. His passion for world music has led him to study Afro-Cuban Percussion including Folklore and Popular Rythms as well as Brazilian and West African Styles of Drumming. Nico G. has studied percussion with Regino Jimenez, Michael Spiro, Mark Lamson, Poncho Sanchez, and Francisco Aguabella. Nico currently studies the steel drum with Tom Gates and Patrick J. Burke.
